Medical Scribe Jobs Near Me - ER Work Opportunities Careers at ScribeAmerica. Contract work is available for a wide range of experience types including options to begin transcription work for the first time. Our transcriptionists work remotely as independent contractors providing high-quality legal and insurance transcription. Integrity, care, and connections with our transcriptionists are integral to our success and set us apart as a contract of choice. This combination of volume and stability allows us the opportunity to provide work to a large and growing team of transcriptionists across the country. And a handful of scribes I've talked to actually prefer to work remotely.Position Description:Since 1996 Allegis has provided premiere transcription services to legal and insurance industry giants through large, long-term contracts. These are small things though! Scribing in any case is a great pre-health experience and can be enjoyable. That, and internet connection issues can be a hassle. Patients tend to look a bit more puzzled or put off by remote scribes. Building camaraderie with the providers happens more slowly. You don't get as many chances to talk to patients. On the other hand, you don't see the whole picture of the provider's day or the clinic. Unique benefits of remote jobs are convenience, less commute and it makes it so much easier to read a book or study/work on homework. It's a valuable experience for pre-health for reasons you could probably expect: observe clinical jobs, accumulate clinical hours, potentially get a mentor a reference. ![]() Remote is good and bad - overall infinitely better than not scribing, but a somewhat less valuable experience than on-site scribing. I've never worked with SA, but I've got experience working a few different remote (and on-site) outpatient scribe positions. ![]()
